Intensive Outpatient Program

The IOP Program Provides Support & Accountability

The Balboa Horizons Intensive Outpatient Program offers innovative treatment programs for men and women recovering from addictions. We understand that change can be a difficult process. We believe that having a safe, supportive, and caring environment can help in early recovery.

At Balboa Horizons, we understand the challenges in maintaining sobriety that occur after primary treatment has been completed, and the importance of supporting our clients through this transitional process. The Intensive Outpatient Program provides clients with tools to help prevent relapse and give clients a better chance of long-term sobriety.

Clients participate in group programming four days a week, along with individual therapy and aftercare planning with therapists and case managers.

Throughout the week, clients participate in groups focused on:

  • Relapse prevention
  • Psycho-education
  • Life skills
  • Self-esteem
  • Healthy relationships
  • Meditation
  • Team building
  • Understanding process addictions

In our Intensive Outpatient Program, clients learn how to have fun and build a social community without the influence of drugs and alcohol. We are flexible and willing to work around school and work schedules. Our program teaches life skills, accountability, and time management. It also allows clients to have continued access to counseling and social support while dealing with stress and triggers in everyday life.

The Balboa Horizons Intensive Outpatient Program builds on the foundation of recovery that forms during primary treatment. Through interactions with therapists, case managers, staff, and peers, clients build a sense of consistency and stability in the sober community.

THE INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM ALSO INCLUDES:

  • Alumni meetings and group activities
  • Drug testing
  • Individual therapy
  • Access to a psychiatrist
  • Aftercare planning
  • Family Participation
