Completing Balboa Horizons’ long-term drug and alcohol treatment program is a huge accomplishment. When a client graduates, they should be proud of the time they spent working on themselves. But after treatment comes a transition period that is crucial to their continued success. Research has shown that it’s these transitions where relapse occurs most. Fortunately, Balboa Horizons has made the transition into aftercare seamless.
Generally, when a client is about to graduate our program, the clinical team will work with the client to create an individualized discharge plan. Aftercare at Balboa Horizons often entails sober living and entrance into our intensive outpatient program (IOP). Sober living is not through Balboa Horizons, but with carefully vetted organizations we trust. Clients continue to attend self-help meetings while going to our IOP program three times per week.
Another important transition comes when an individual transfers from IOP to outpatient. Balboa Horizons provides outpatient programming for those who have successfully completed our IOP and are, at this point, working full-time. Clients in our outpatient program enjoy the fruits of their recovery: the freedom to live a clean, sober life.
Our team at Balboa Horizons has set up key relationships with local sober-living centers. They hold our graduating clients to the same structure and standards that we do. Quality aftercare for rehab is crucial. We help all of our clients get continued care either in Orange County or where they go after treatment.
Alumni of Balboa Horizons are kept in the loop and are often invited to attend weekly alumni meetings at our headquarters in Costa Mesa. Our alumni are incredible people and we love to offer them events and meetings throughout the year.
Our clinicians work with each client to create a discharge plan that help prevent relapse and give them the best chance at long-term sobriety. If you are looking for a treatment center with a vast alumni network and strong recovery, then you are in the right place.
