Just Being Miley?by baladmin | August 22, 2013
This year’s MTV’s Video Music Awards caused quite a commotion.
The main event: Miley Cyrus’ “performance” if you can even call it that. The 20-year-old singer came on stage in a one-piece bathing suit or leotard that seemed to have the face of a teddy bear on it. There were also other people with giant stuffed teddy bear backpacks on while Miley basically danced around and yelled.
Then, Robin Thicke came on stage to perform his insanely popular “Blurred Lines” and Miley stayed to sing with him. She tore off the teddy bear one-piece to show a nude colored two-piece outfit, similar to the ones worn by the women in the official “Blurred Lines” video. In what is being described as “twerking”, Miley bent over forward and danced right in front of Robin Thicke.
What’s Going On?
It seems there may be some real concern for the safety of Miley Cyrus. Is she using drugs? Is she crying out for attention? Where is her family, who is helping guide her career choices?
Not too long ago, pictures surfaced of Miley smoking salvia out of a bong, a drug similar to marijuana. Now this performance, and several startling behavioral choices in between, including a Tweet that said, “I’m miserable. Been crying myself to sleep. Taking a zany trying to pass out. Goodnight.” A “zany” is referring to a Xanax, a benzodiazepine used to treat anxiety. Benzos are highly addictive, and may be just a part of Miley’s substance use. The combination of Miley’s behaviors later are leading people to wonder where her head is at, and what she is putting into her body.
Miley’s close friend, Kelly Osbourne, is offering Miley some advice. Who would have thought that someone like Kelly, who has gone through difficult hydrocodone withdrawal, drug rehab, and now daily recovery, would be the voice of reason.
Is Kelly seeing the signs of drug abuse in Miley?
Kelly Osbourne was addicted to Vicodin, among other things, which is hydrocodone mixed with acetaphetamine. The drug is highly habit-forming and extremely damaging to the body. Vicodin is an opiate, like heroin, morphine, codeine, and other pharmaceutical versions that combine hydrocodone, oxycodone, or other opioids. When anyone taking Vicodin stops, the hydrocodone withdrawal symptoms are excruciating.
Will Miley need an intervention and drug rehab?
It’s hard to tell for sure, but based on her performance on the VMAs, her Tweets, and her demeanor lately, she could be using any number of drugs. Vicodin and other opiates are downers, meaning they kill pain and offer the user relaxation. Miley seemed to be revved up, so maybe she is taking uppers, like cocaine, or even psychedelics like MDMA, Ecstasy, or Molly, but she did admit to Xanax use, so who knows?
While it’s nice of Kelly Osbourne to care about her friend, other people in Miley’s life really need to step in and find out what’s going on.
