Balboa Hosts Bill Maher at Facility

The December multifamily workshop at Balboa Horizons kicked off like usual with Dr. Jim Tracy introducing himself and providing an overview of the next three days. However, this family workshop had a special guest in attendance, Bill Maher, CADC, ACI.

Bill Maher is a highly successful and innovative Interventionist specializing in the Gentle, Respectful, Invitational Model, which addresses the effects of addiction on the whole family. Since 1989, Bill has provided intervention services, facilitating over 2,000 interventions nationally with a very high success rate for placing the addicted individual into treatment.

Balboa invited Bill to sit in on our family workshop, visit the facilities and learn more about our programs firsthand.

“I receive four to five invites from different facilities each month and this invite was the first one I had accepted in over a year,” states Bill Maher, CADC, ACI, “I had heard great things about Balboa Horizons and wanted to experience it for myself.”

Bill sat in on two out of the three days of the multifamily workshop and spent some quality time with Paul Moen, CEO of Balboa Horizons. During the family workshop he also engaged in conversation with many of the clients and their families.  The clients talked about their experiences with program and the progress they were making in their own recovery. Bill could tell Balboa offers a quality treatment for addiction and dual diagnosis.

“Paul has passion for the program and compassion for the clients,” states Maher, “He is very involved with every facet of the program and it makes a difference for the clients.”

The staff of Balboa Horizons enjoyed hosting Bill and look forward to working with him in the future. If you or your loved one is looking for an interventionist, we highly recommend Bill Maher.  As president of the Family Intervention Center of Virginia, he provides intervention services to families in need from all over the country, but especially in the Mid-Atlantic Region, including Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina and West Virginia.  He also travels internationally facilitating interventions.
