Balboa Horizons Recovery Tribeby baladmin | November 12, 2015
By definition a tribe is a distinct people, dependent on their land for their livelihood, who are largely self-sufficient, and not integrated into a national society. In many ways Balboa Horizons is a tribe on the recovery battlefield.
Addiction recovery provides the space for people to take a step back from their everyday lives and look at their weaknesses, build upon their strengths and explore their values. In essence, a rehab is a place to do the hard work of self-analysis and inner growth. During this space and time our clients are supported by their therapists, support staff and clinicians. We strive to develop independent, self-sufficient people. Ones who return to the world stronger. Who are not easily swayed by popularity, trends and insecurity, but rather individuals who can hear their own voice above the chatter and live each day true to themselves.
We are thankful for our talented staff that is raising up recovery warriors. This month we have highlighted the work of Allyssa James (Therapist), Jillian Litvak (Support Staff), and Steve Sweningsen (Support Staff). Thank you all for sharing your expertise, experience and talent with our clients.
Though many refer to addiction recovery as the most painful of life experiences, just as many reflect fondly back on the time. They remember the people who stood by them at their weakest point, the ones who comforted them in their most painful state and the others who kept showing up day after day. It’s these high’s and low’s that create one epic journey-no psychedelics needed. We are proud of our staff. Thank you for making this tribe the strong force that it is.
