Research indicates higher rates of drug abuse and alcohol addiction or the tendency to self-medicate in women who have experienced traumatic events. Balboa Horizons specializes in personalized approaches that promote deep healing from chemical dependency and
co-occurring/ dual diagnosis disorders commonly associated
with trauma, or PTSD.
Our Newport Beach, California location facilitates the physical-recovery with activities
such as yoga, massage therapy, beach volleyball, biking and more. Our integrated social interventions include group therapy, individual therapies as well as a core 12 step approach to recovery.
Balboa Horizons offers gender specific drug alcohol rehabilitation services for women only. Significant research indicates that gender specific addiction treatment models offer the highest rate
of success. Having a women’s specific program is a minimal measure of gender responsiveness of a facility.
Balboa Horizon's suggested 30 day up to 90 day and longer extended care addiction treatment rehabilitation program is clinically comprehensive with a holistic approach
to caring for women. We place a strong emphasis on all
of the individual parts that equal the whole person;
spiritual, biological, social and psychological.
Our
drug alcohol dual diagnosis treatment program integrates interventions and addiction treatment modalities
for each of these areas of recovery as well as, Post Traumatic
Stress Disorder (PTSD), and other traumas-also known
as
dual diagnosis/co-occurring mental health diagnoses- usually associated
with alcoholism and drug abuse.
